Tampa Bay Rays Had a 20-Foot Python Loose in the Clubhouse

He wasn't exactly loose in the club house in the way you might think; they didn't have a random 20-foot python just happen to slither in. No, this one was brought in on purpose (yeah, I'm not sure if that is better either).

Apparently Rays manager Joe Maddon likes to keep things loose and to help him do that he brings in animals from the local zoo. In the past their have been penguins and even a cockatoo. This time he asked them to bring in a snake since it is the Year of the Snake on the Chinese calendar.

Umm...okay.

So on those other days was it the Day of the Penguin (or were happy feet involved?) or the Hour of the Cockatoo (cause who would want a whole day for a cockatoo?)?

I can't imagine too many guys feeling loose with a 20-foot python looking to give them a hug, but their visitor probably did keep them from dwelling on the coming game with the Seattle Mariners.
