That is, if he wants to continue playing football in the NFL.

Last week was not much better (4-12 for 55 yards). You could say that this is just preseason and its not fair to judge, but since he is not going to play unless Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett go down he has to prove himself now while he has the chance.
The biggest knock on Tebow has been his throwing motion and accuracy. All summer long when Tebow was unemployed we kept hearing that his motion was fixed and he was good to go. After two preseason games and a pretty good amount of playing time it is pretty clear that it is not.

His leadership skills are second to none; that goes without saying. He has shown in the past that he is capable of rallying the troops and pulling the game out in the end--a trait that a lot of QBs in the NFL do not have. However, it might be nice to not always be in a position to need late game heroics.
Maybe what he needs is for someone to just believe in him and give him the reigns. He made it payoff in Denver; maybe he could have done it in New York last year. As long a Brady is healthy and Ryan Mallett keeps performing like he has so far this preseason he is not going to get that chance in New England.

So it comes down to this--how important is playing quarterback to him? He was a great runner in college and has done well overall in the NFL running the ball. It would not be a shocker to see him succeed in the NFL as a running back. He is a good football player; he just needs to play the right position.
Otherwise, barring a much better performance next week, we might be seeing the end of Tebow Time.
