BYU Running Back Jamaal Williams With Serious Injury Scare

Saturday night was host to one of the greatest rivalries in college football--the Holy War between the Utah Utes and BYU Cougars. Like any other rivalry game, this is the one that the players get up for; that they want to win more than any other game.

However, as important as a win is the health of a player always comes first. After the hit BYU starting running back Jamaal Williams took there is definitely reason to be concerned about him.

During the second half he was trying to grind out some yards against a tough Utah defense when he suffered a nasty neck injury.

It looks like he started to duck his head as he went into contact with the Utah defender; never a good sign in itself. To make matters worse he appears to hit the ground with the top of his helmet.

Man--that hurts just to watch.

The early word is that he was able to move his extremities following the hit--definitely a good sign. Here's hoping that further news gets ever better.
