Dallas Cowboys Looking to Trade Miles Austin to Detroit?

You have to love the rumor mill. The Detroit Lions are in the market for a wide receiver thanks to the untimely pizza saving accident in which Nate Burleson broke his arm in two places (he was trying to keep one of two pizzas from sliding off the seat when he hit the median wall; and no, there was no alcohol involved).

If you give any weight to the rumor mill they may be trying to snag Miles Austin away from the Cowboys in order to put a legit No. 2 across from Calvin Johnson.

I can't imagine what the Lions would be willing to give up in return that Jerry Jones would consider enough to make this deal happen. Austin's own injury prone track record will lower the price tag some, but when he takes the field is he an excellent weapon.

Which is why the Lions want him (allegedly) to play next  to Megatron and why Jerry Jones will make them pay through the roof. You have to think he would for two reasons: he is a shrewd as he** business man and will get maximum value.

The second reason--and the reason it will not happen--is that since Dallas lacks depth at the wide receiver position and is expected to be competitive this season they will not want to give up one of the few weapons they have for nothing.

I can see ole Jerry wanting something like Reggie Bush or next season's first round pick along with Joique Bell--and Detroit is not going to do that.

What I don't get is why we haven't heard about more guys trying to sign Brandon Lloyd. I can't imagine making straight to DVD horror flicks paying so much he'd ignore any calls.
