Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson can't seem to catch a break; or at least not the kind of break that he wants. Mathew Stafford and Calvin Johnson are going to have to do without their partner in crime going forward. Burleson was in a car accident Monday night/ Tuesday morning.
He is alive and will eventually be fine, but he is not going to be catching any footballs after breaking his arm in two places.
The accident occurred sometime following the end of Monday's game between the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders. There are not a whole lot of details being released just yet, but the early word is that no alcohol was involved.
The loss will certainly hamper the Lions offensive efforts going forward. Burleson had a six catch, 116 yard game against the Redskins Sunday. It was his first 100+ yard game since Week 6 of the 2010 season (an overtime game against the Jets).
