Texas Rangers Prove it's Better Late Than Never

If you want to you can say that the Texas Rangers should not be in a do-or-die situation, but the fact of the matter is they are. What is important though is that when it mattered most--and with two games left and a game back in the wildcard hunt it doesn't get much more important than this--they did what they needed to.

They won.

"I've never been in playoff contention this late in the season!"
With the season on the line the Rangers took care of business against the Los Angeles Angels Saturday afternoon with a 7-4 win. Everyone in the lineup recorded a hit, but the real hero of the day was the bullpen. Four relievers combined to hold the Angles to one hit over 4 1/3 innings to secure the win.

Of course a win meant little unless the Tampa Bay Rays or Cleveland Indians lost--and the Rays did falling to the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2.

So while the Rangers flopped big time down the stretch they are getting the job done now proving one thing that has to make the fans pretty happy. The team may get down, but it will never be out-- or simply that the Rangers won't die.

Now the Rangers are in control of their own destiny. Win on Sunday against a team that they beat 14 times this season (and lost to 4 times) and they will at least force a tiebreaker. The help the team get there they have  known other than Yu Darvish on the mound.

For Rangers fans this is good news--because they love them some Yu Darvish!
