Reggie Wayne Out For the Season With a Torn ACL

Sunday night's win over the Denver Broncos was a big one for the Indianapolis Colts. Taking down Peyton Manning in the house that he built? There are no words that can appropriately describe the win--but it came at a pretty steep price.

Veteran wide receiver and team leader Reggie Wayne is out for the season.

Late in the game Wayne appeared to be wide open for a catch that would have easily resulted in a touchdown and all but put the game out of reach for Denver, but than he appeared to stumble for no apparent reason and went down.

Wayne immediately left the field and headed to the locker room. The team wasted no time in ruling him out for the rest of the game. An MRI was scheduled for Monday and from it the team found out he tore his ACL and meniscus.

Losing Wayne will hurt, but the Colts should be fine. T.Y. Hilton has continued to improve and develop and could be a legitimate No. 1. Darius Heyward-Bey has done well and Coby Fleener has started to step it up lately.

With the way the Colts have been aggressive going after players it would not be shocking to see them go after another player via trade or bring in some free agents (sure would be nice to still have Austin Collie).
