Baylor Wins! Baylor Wins! Baylor Wins!

Thursday night will be one that the fans of the Baylor Bears are going to remember for sometime. It was the night that saw their time go from being that 'other' team to a real, genuine contender. How did this happen? Simple--they dismantled and dominated the No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners 41-12.

The game was actually a close one at one time. Oklahoma held the Bears to an early field goal, but were able to take a lead after recording a safety and a field goal of their own. Little did they know that 5-3 would be the only lead the Sooners had the whole night.

Bryce Petty responded to the field goal with three touchdown drives to close out the half and give Baylor a 24-5 lead at the half.

With the help of the defense the Bears remained in control of the game in spite of being hit with some injuries (wide receiver Tevin Reese is out for the season with a dislocated wrist). In the end the Bears did not just win--they made a statement.

A real loud one.
