Cam Newton Spitting up Blood After Early Hit

One of the most pleasant surprises of the NFL season has to be the emergence of Cam Newton the Leader and the Carolina Panthers as one of the toughest teams in the NFL. That toughness was put to the test early in Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake put a good rush on Cam and appears to have possibly hit him in the chin (see his head pop back) in the process. 

I don't think it was dirty. Wake was swiping for his arm or the ball and missed, but in the process connected with Cam's chin enough to possibly cause him to bite his tongue or the side of his cheek or something.
