Raiders Rookie QB Matt McGloin Throws Three Touchdowns in Win Over Texans

Houston Texans fans did not expect to see their once feared defense (yeah they rock when it comes to yards--No. 1--but not when it comes to scoring-- No. 28) picked apart by an undrafted rookie.

However, fans of the Penn State Nittany Lions were not surprised to see their former quarterback--Matt McGloin--throw three touchdowns against the Texans to lead the Raiders to a 28-23 win in his first career start.

The first two came in the first quarter turning a hostile crowd into a quiet one. The third came in the second half and put the Raiders up for good. Rashad Jennings added another to give the Raiders a little cushion (which they ended up needing).

On the day he was 18-32 for 197 yards and three TDs. Overall he looked pretty good leading the team. It helped that the running game helped slow the Houston pass rush (two sacks), but McGloin deserves plenty of credit.

The question may now become whether the Raiders want to give him a better look or insert Terrelle Pryor back in the lineup as soon as he is healthy enough to play. On one hand you hate to see someone lose their job because they got hurt, but the Raiders have not looked good (overall) with Pryor under center.

With McGloin under center they certainly did.
