Vanderbilt Snaps 22 Game Losing Streak to Florida With 34-17 Win

As one rises so must another fall. That appears to be the case in Gainesville at least as the star for one coach continues to climb while the other continued its downward trajectory.

James Franklin has the Vanderbilt program on the rise, and continued the upward climb with a dominant win over Will Muschamp's Florida Gators 34-17. It's the first time the Gators lost to the Commodores in Gainesville since 1945, and the first win for Vanderbilt over Florida since 1988.

The win gives the Commodores a chance to do something that has been unheard of-- go to a bowl game for the third consecutive season. Prior to Franklin's arrival Vanderbilt had been to a bowl game just three times since 1974. The win moves them within a game of eligibility with games they should win coming up against Kentucky, Tennessee, and Wake Forest.

For Florida and Will Muschamp the waters are getting pretty  muddies. The once proud program has not had a losing record at this point in the season in years. At 4-5 and games still to play against South Carolina and Florida State the Gators 23-season bowl streak may be coming to an end.

Should that happen will it mean the end of Mushcamp's days in Florida?

Only time will tell what will happen, but it is pretty clear that Franklin's future is pretty bright while Muschamp's is looking pretty grim.
