Art Briles has the Perfect Response to Gary Patterson's Criticism

The TCU/Baylor game was one of many that was full of great action on the field, but I doubt anyone expected there to be so much long after the game ended. If you haven't heard, Gary Patterson (TCU's head coach) went on at length during his press conference with some rather harsh criticism basically saying that Art Briles and the Baylor program didn't have any class (without directly saying it).

Briles has responded to Patterson and I have to say that he could not have shown more class with what he said:

@BUFootball/Twitter
This has been posted to Baylor's Facebook page:
Briles on Patterson critcism: "Growing up in West Texas, I was taught if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all."
Short and to the point.

The easy thing would have been to actually respond directly to it, but that would have been sinking to the childish level that Patterson was speaking from--which was surprising to hear coming from a solid coach. If Patterson really had an issue with anything Briles did or didn't do there are better ways to handle it than how he did.

Besides, if he wants to talk about class he showed very little with his comments. TCU lost. Don't be a sore loser. If Patterson had as much class as he thinks he does all he would have said was "Good game coach" and "I'm sorry to hear about your brother."

That would have been classy Gary Patterson. What you did--not classy.

If you missed Patterson's comments:
