Word broke about a week ago that the team was interested in the Penn State head coach, and although he denied that he was going anywhere to a recruit the fact that he was trying to get his buyout reduced made it seem as if he was indeed interested.
It will be interesting to see what he does now in regards to the coaching staff, especially defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. There is no denying that the unit has become a force under Phillips, but Phillips has made it known that he wants to be a head coach again (even though he has not had a good track record as one).
Will he take this as a slight? Will O'Brien want to bring in his own guy? The biggest question for the Texans has been answered; time to get a thousand little ones answered.
