Georgia Tech Reminds Us to Keep it Simple; Safety on Trick Play Locks Up Music City Bowl for Ole Miss

Bo Wallace turned in a solid performance during the Music City Bowl, but in the end it was the defense that locked up the win for the Rebels over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

From Bleacher Report
It looked like Ole Miss just about had this one wrapped up when they took a 23-7 lead late in the third quarter. Georgia Tech is not built for comebacks so as long as the Rebels didn't make any mistakes it appeared as if Ole Miss was going to get.

Sure enough--an interception led to a long touchdown for Georgia Tech making the score 23-17 with most of the fourth still to play.

Uh-oh.

After both teams went three and out Ole Miss went on a nice 13-play, time consuming drive but failed to come away with any points (missed field goal). For some strange reason the Yellow Jackets tried to use a trick play on their next possession which the defense blew up for the game-securing safety you see above.

The win gave Ole Miss its first 8-wins season under Hugh Freeze as well as its second bowl win under him in two seasons.
