Dabo Swinney Wins This Season's War of Words With Steve Spurrier With Orange Bowl Comment

Rivals are not supposed to be nice. You hope that there is some mutual respect there, but that is not always the case. Sometimes it is what it is--hate.

I have not followed the South Carolina/Clemson rivalry like a hawk over the years, but I have heard enough to know that there is no love lost between Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier.

It's not uncommon for these guys to take jabs at each other at any given moment. Spurrier took a shot after the Capitol One Bowl, and Swinney answered after his team's big win over Ohio State in the Orange Bowl.

Swinney won.

Here's what Spurrier had to say:

Is it a little childish for grown men to act this way? Eh--maybe, but its football, it's fun, and it just goes to show how much passion they have for their teams.

So go on coaches and do what you do.
