The end did come and the time for rebuilding started the second the game finished. As of Tuesday night the team took the first step towards returning to playoff form—hiring PennState’s Bill O’ Brien to be the team’s third head coach in franchise history.
Few will take issue with the hire if any. O’Brien comes to the team with a solid resume having spent a good amount of time under Bill Belichick in New England before taking over the scandal plagued PennState program in 2012. He has proven that he knows how to overcome less than desirable circumstances—a skill he will likely need his first season in Houston.
With Step One complete the tough work begins—filling out his coaching staff and deciding who to take with the No. 1 pick in the draft....
