Knile Davis Making the Most of His Playing Time Against the Colts

From pee wee on through the NFL coaches are always telling their players one thing: If you don't start you still need to be ready to play. Everyone is one play away from having to go the whole game. It sounds like an empty promise designed to give backup players--that is, until someone gets hurt and you do have to go in.

The question than becomes can you prove you belong or will it be back to the bench.

From Bleacher Report
The Chiefs drafted Knile Davis primarily off the promise that he showed in his sophomore season (2010) when he led the SEC in rushing yards by a running back with 1322 yards and 13 touchdowns. An injury kept him off the field his junior season ('11) and he was not much of a factor for the Razorbacks his last year ('12).

Kansas City liked what they saw enough to make him a third round pick. With starting running back Jamaal Charles going down early in Saturday's wildcard game he has been given the chance to prove that picking him was not a mistake.

So far so good.

From Bleacher Report
Going into the fourth he has 18 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown as well as seven reception for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Yeah, I think its safe to say the Chiefs are glad they drafted him.

UPDATE:

That is, of course, till he too goes down with an injury.
