Sammy Watkins is Going to Make Some Lucky NFL QB's Day Come Draft Day

The NFL is moving more and more to a pass first, second, and maybe even a third time before running league (for many teams at least). Of course for that to happen--and continue to happen--there must be two things: quarterbacks with pin point accuracy and wide receivers that can catch the ball and do something with it afterwards.

You know--someone like Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

Football fans--and NFL QBs-- had to love what they saw in Watkins during the Orange Bowl against Ohio State. The 6'1" junior used every bit of his height and size (205 pounds) to pull in 16 balls for 227 yards and two touchdowns.

That night brought his season total to 101 receptions, 1464 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

After a night and a season like that it came as no surprise that Watkins declared for the NFL draft. Yeah, it sucks that he's leaving school early, but when you are projected to be the first wide receiver off the board and possibly even a top 5 pick in the draft can you blame him?
