Texas A&M Loses One Wide Receiver But Gains Another

For college football coaches this has to be a tough time of year. As their season comes to a close they have to prepare for the inevitable--losing players to the NFL draft. Texas A&M is feeling the pain now with the announcement that red shirt sophomore wide receiver Mike Evans is declaring for the draft (still waiting on Johnny Football).

For the Aggies it has to suck, but at the same time you understand why. It appears the team has already found a way to get over the loss of Evans anyway--this guy:

From Bleacher Report
His name is Devante "Speedy" Noil , and for obvious reasons (he's the guy in the red wearing No. 2 and scoring the touchdown). Dubbed the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation by many scouting services he primarily played quarterback at Edna Karr High School in New Oreans.

How good is he? As a dual threat QB he passed for over 2200 yards, rushed for more than 1300, and scored 47 touchdowns (24 passing, 20 rushing, and three receiving) in 2012. He is not a big guy though standing just 5'10.5" and weighing in at 176 pounds, but he more than makes up for it by elusive and--you guessed--fast as hell.

Evans was expected to declare for the draft. Standing 6'4" and weighing around 220 he is the prototype NFL coaches wish they could clone. In two seasons with the Aggies he caught 151 balls for 2499 yards and 17 touchdowns--so he has the skill to go with the size.

Noil will not be able to replace a tall, physical threat like Evans, but with 4.4 speed (in the 40) that will not matter. No one will be able to catch him!

Now imagine him paired up with  Ricky Seals-Jones....
