Tom Brady and Peyton Manning Have More Than Just a Trip to the Super Bowl on the Line

Whenever it comes time for the post season fans typically have two major hopes: (1) that their favorite team goes all the way to the Super Bowl and (2) if their favorite team is not involved that the games are competitive. When there is only a handful of games left it sucks when some or any of them are blowouts.

So far this post season the majority of the games have been competitive. With the way that the divisional round finished on Sunday it looks like the championship games next weekend are going to be epic.

The match ups could not be better without Hollywood being involved. In the NFC you have Seattle and San Francisco; both led by the quarterbacks of the future. In the AFC you have New England and Denver; the battle of the legends.

Does it get any better than this? I think not! We are going to have a pair of battles on our hands! Most sports betting sites like SportsBettingOnline.ag have odds for the Seattle Seahawks at (-3) and Denver at (-4.5). For you non-gambling types that means each is going to be one heck of a game!

For Seattle and San Francisco its going to be about the Super Bowl, and while New England and Denver are going to be concerned about that as well there is going to be an added dimension for their contest. It's going to be a contest of legacies between two of the NFL's best--Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

In fact, the two are going to have more than just another trip to the Super Bowl. They are going to be playing for immortality in the record books of the NFL.

With the number of games that these guys have played in the post season they have racked up some pretty impressive stats. After Saturday's performance against the Colts Brady became the first player in the history of the league to surpass 6000 post season passing yards (6147).

Manning had a pretty tame game by his standards against San Diego, but with 230 yards he brought his total to 5909--good enough for second. It will be kind of hard for Peyton to overcome a 256 yard deficit in one game, but should the Broncos make it to the Super Bowl that record is his.

When it comes down to it both of these games are going to be for the ages. Records will be broken, some will be made, and when the day is done fans everywhere are going to be real happy they saw those games.
