WATCH: Greg Oden Plays for First Time Since 2009; Slams One Home in First Possession

If there is one basket in the NBA that deserves to be applauded and replayed over and over it is this one--Greg Oden's slam dunk during his first possession of the Miami Heat/Washington Wizards.

This is just awesome. At one time he was expected to be the next great big man in the NBA. Greg Oden had NBA stardom written all over him in high school. He had it all going for him--the frame, the talent. For all intents and purposes you could say he was destined for greatness just like a No. 1 pick should be

Than his knees started falling apart and he played the equivalent of one season spread out over three. Thanks to those knees he hasn't played since 2009 so when he slammed this basket down he proved the value of hard work and perseverance--something his teammates and the fans in Washington sure appreciated.

As they should.
