Getting sacked was not something that happened often to A.J. McCarron during the regular season. I believe the commentators said he went as long as six weeks at one point during the year without getting sacked--but that all changed Thursday night in the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma.

Sack No. 7 (see above) stopped any hope that Alabama had of tying the game and sending it to overtime. The fact that it caused a fumble which was returned for a touchdown was just icing on the cake.
Final Score: Oklahoma 45 Alabama 31
