Adidas Pulls Awesome, Sexually Suggestive World Cup Shirts After Complaints From Brazil

The World Cup is just a few shorts months away. Come mid-June Brazil will be swamped with soccer teams from around the world as well as legions of their fans. As should be expected, Adidas released a t-shirt in advance of the tournament.

They are the apparel sponsor so that's what they are supposed to do. However, they might have thought about checking with a few folks before releasing it.

It appears that some folks in Brazil didn't like it. Apparently Brazil has gotten a little touchy with the perception visitors have of Brazilian sensuality and they are trying to change the image that the country is a destination for sexual tourism.

"Brazil is happy to receive tourists for the World Cup, but it is also ready to combat sex tourism," President Dilma Rousseff tweeted.

Adidas has complied with requests to pull the t-shirts and not sell them. They were briefly on sale in several Adidas shops in the United States. Expect to see some pop up on eBay any day now.
