Either Texas or Iowa State were going to make a statement Tuesday night with a win over a tough opponent. With the way that Melvin Ejim, DeAndre Kane and Georges Niang for the Cyclones it is pretty safe to say that it was Iowa State that did all the talking.
The trio combined to shoot 57 percent from the floor--led by Melvin Ejim's 25 point night--and easily beat the Longhorns 85-76 for their fifth win in six games.
The Big 12 is shaping up to be a pretty good race this season so when two of the top teams met Tuesday night it was more than just a game. The Longhorns could stand to create a little space between them and the Cyclones needed to close the gap.
Mission accomplished Iowa State.
