When it comes time for an NFL player to walk away from the game they hope for a couple things: (1) that they actually can walk away from the game and they are not retiring due to injuries and (2) they leave a mark with the team they were with.
Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Jordan Gross is retiring from the game after 11 seasons pretty much intact (so check on No. 1). At his press conference Wednesday his team made it pretty clear that No. 2 was covered as well.
