Philadelphia 76ers Give Basketball Fans a Reason to Love the Team No Matter How Many Games They Lose [VIDEO]

The Philadelphia 76ers are now one of my favorite teams. I was already digging these guys after there solid start--the one that made a few guys in Vegas nervous when their NBA Finals odds were something crazy like 1 to 9999 (don't remember the actual odd, but they were insane). My $10 bucks appears to be wasted now, but that's okay.

What really has me loving this team is what they are doing for Kevin Grow.

Kevin is the manager for his high school basketball team--and he has Downs Syndrome.  In the last two games for the Bensalem High School team he was allowed to play and ended up scoring 14 points!

Maybe it's because they could use some help from behind the arc or they are just being awesome, but the 76ers are signing him to a two-day contract. He will end up getting his own jersey, get to shoot around with the team prior to a game, and stand with them during the National Anthem prior to tip off.

Any kid would love something like this, but as the parent of two special needs kiddos I know what it would mean--to the parents as well as the kid.

Well done 76ers. Well done indeed.
