Someone with much
more time on their hands than me figured out that there are about 700,000 pitches thrown a season. Of those 700,000 only one in every 300,000 end up hitting the pitcher in the face (courtesy of a line drive).
Well--it appears that we may already have the two for this season covered now that Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Matt Moore has been hit.

Luckily it appears that he was able to deflect it with his glove and maybe even his hand. Since he was able to pop up and finish the play he was definitely not hit quite like
Aroldis Chapman was.
