Video Proof That the Stanford Band Doesn't Have to Suck #NerdAnthem

Suck is a strong word; I realize that. Maybe it's one I shouldn't use since the basis of my opinion is just the performance that they put on during halftime of the Rose Bowl--you know, just one of the most prestigious bowl games in college football.

You would think a school would look to put out its best for a game like that, but no. Instead they put out this:

You can see more of that performance here. There isn't any video there, but ask anyone that suffered through that show and they'll tell you--it sounded like everyone with an actual instrument was playing a different song.

It doesn't have to be that way and not just because they are smart kids that could do anything if they set their minds to it and practiced. There is rhythm at the school. There is someone that can direct and choreograph a performance (granted a music video and marching band are two different things).

How do we know this?

Because this Nerd Anthem video is pretty sweet.

I'm all for self expression and all and if that is what the band is going for than fine. If not will whoever was in charge of this video help the band out next year?

I'd say get rid of the goofy tree too, but I know that will never happen.
