Russell Wilson to Become Free Agent Soon--on the Social Scene

Professionally life could not be better for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. He's only been a pro for a couple years, but he's already won a Super Bowl. Whenever he does negotiate his contract the man is going to get paid something fierce. There is no reason to think that he will not compete for the Super Bowl the next few years as well.

Yeah, professionally life is good. At home though things are not so good.

He and his wife Ashton are getting a divorce. Wilson has released the following statement (via SeattleTimes):

“I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. Clearly, decisions like these don’t come easy. Ashton and I respectfully ask for prayers, understanding and privacy during this difficult time. Moving forward, I will have no further comment on this personal matter.”

The couple had only been married for a couple years having tied the knot in January 2012 before he was drafted by the Seahawks.
