The 37 points that Monta Ellis had a lot to do with a much needed win over the Phoenix Suns Saturday night. In the end the most important play came courtesy of Brandan Wright when he got a hand on what would have been a game-tying layup by Eric Bledsoe with 12 seconds to go.
Ellis made one of two free throws on the next possession for the Maverick to make the score 101-98. Markieff Morris threw up a desperation three-pointer, but it just wasn't meant to be for the Suns.
The win puts the Mavericks back in the post season after missing last season for the first time in the Mark Cuban Era. However, it looks like they are going to have a pretty tough time making it out of the first round. They will face the San Antonio Spurs or Oklahoma City Thunder.
