WATCH: Kickboxer Tyrone Spong Injures Leg a Lot Like Anderson Silva Did

At UFC 168 Anderson Silva lost after breaking his leg when Chris Weidman blocked his kick. Fans watching Glory 15--a kickboxing competition in Istanbul--were reminded of that injury during the main event when Tyrone Spong suffered a strikingly similar injury doing pretty much the exact same thing.

This hurts just to watch.

What was cool (if there can be anything cool about an injury like this) is that his opponent Gokhan Saki immediately moved to comfort his fallen foe when it happened. It was enough of a shock to the ref that he tried to block him!



According to his manager, Spong shattered his shin and immediately left Istanbul for Florida to have surgery.
