San Antonio Spurs Get Much Needed Wake Up Call in Game Four

Monday night the Portland Trail Blazers reminded the San Antonio Spurs of something very important—they came to play and will not just lay down.

One of the worst things that can happen to a team like the Spurs is complacency. If it starts to get too easy to win there is a risk that a team will not try as hard the next time out because they don’t think they need to.

Since the Spurs had led for the vast majority of the first three games in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Trail Blazers there was a real risk that could happen—and either it did or it could be something else altogether.

Like maybe the Trail Blazers were bound and determined to not go down without winning at least one game against San Antonio—or perhaps it was a combination of both....
