I guess it's true. As a kid I can remember asking one of my coaches if you end up becoming a softy when you get older. He appeared to be a tough guy so I figured he would know--and he said yes. For years I wondered why, but ever since I became a dad I think I figured it out. Darn parenthood.
Anyway...so when I see the Boston Red Sox have Michael Mullins--a 38-year old man with Downs Syndrome--sing the National Anthem before a game it almost makes me sentimental enough to become a Red Sox fan.
But I can't. Go Astros! (yes, I know--they suck)
