Blake Bortles is Okay With Not Being Johnny Manziel

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles has a lot in common with Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel. Both have or have had ties to beautiful women. Both had dynamic college careers, and both have a lot to live up to in the NFL after being selected in the first round (Bortles at No. 3 and Manziel No. 22).

But so far the attention of the masses has been fixated on Manziel and from the sound of it Bortles is quite alright with that.

Over the weekend Bortles took part in an NFL Play 60 Symposium at the Browns practice facility in Berea, Ohio. He talked with reporters about how he thought he was going to end up in Cleveland rather than Jacksonville.

“I definitely thought there was more of a possibility I’d be here than Jacksonville, but that’s not the way it turned out and I couldn’t be happier to be where I am.”

Good answer; let's the locals know he appreciates them, but is quite glad with how things turned out. When asked about Cleveland's QB and the spotlight he is under he had this to say:

“He’s definitely in a whole other light than I’m in,” Bortles said of Manziel. “He’s way more under the microscope. He’s way more of a celebrity than me. He’s got a lot of stuff to deal with that I don’t have to.”

When it comes to preparing for his rookie season in the NFL it has to be nice not being surrounded by Manziel-like hype.
