Spurs Finish First Period of Game Three with 41 Points and Perfect eFG% (which is what?)!

If you missed the first period of Game Three you missed one of the best shooting displays in NBA Finals history by the San Antonio Spurs. How good was it? As a team they hit 13-15 for 41 points; best quarter in an NBA Finals game since 1967.

Not bad, right?

The Philadelphia 76ers led by Hal Greer (and with Wilt Chamberlain throwing in a little help) scored 43 in a 141-135 win over the San Francisco Warriors:

So what is this eFG%? How can it be perfect even though they did actually miss a couple? According to SportingCharts.com it stands for effective field goal percentage and is defined as:
A metric used in NBA basketball that is similar to Field Goal Percentage, but adds an additional parameter. This parameter adjusts for the fact that 3-point field goals are worth 50 percent more than 2-point field goals.
eFG% = (FGM + (0.5 x 3PTM)) / FGA
