#ThrowbackThursday: Clayton Kershaw's First 15K Game in 2006 for Highland Park HS in Texas

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is the toast of the town for Dodgers fans and fantasy owners everywhere after Wednesday night's masterful performance--a 15K complete game shutout (the first of his career).

But it wasn't the first time he's ever thrown a game like that....

If you think Kershaw is a bad man now in high school opposing batters probably had nightmares about him. In 64 innings pitched he was nearly unhittable and rarely got scored on (.77 ERA), and averaged 2.17 strikeouts an inning!

Awesome, right?

His awesomeness was on display during a playoff game against Northwestern (TX) his senior year when he struck out the first 15 batter he faced. With more than enough offensive support his team had little trouble scoring 10 runs (which included a Kershaw home run).

Thanks to the 10-run mercy rule the game was called after five innings so he ended up getting a perfect game (all be it a shorter one).
