Brazillian Brewery Selling Beer Made From Barley Grown on Famous Training Pitch

For soccer fans in Brazil the Granja Comary is a legendary training ground for the nation's soccer elite. For beer drinkers at the World Cup it is where one of the main ingredients for a very special beer were grown.

The Brahma Selecao Especial.

Normally the field would be used to train, but with the headquarters of the Brazilian Soccer Federation being remodeled the training ground was not in use for a few months. So they decided to grow barley on it.

Supposedly Brazil coach Luis Felipe Scolari was so interested in this he had a live feed set up so he could check in on the barley from time to time (you know--to make sure it was still growing I guess).

Before you run off to your local liquor store soccer and beer aficionados this brew is only being sold in Brazil for about three months right around World Cup--for twice the amount of a normal Brahma beer.

But if you really want a special World Cup brew you can have it. A select numbered batch was made to sell online (where legal of course).
