Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Showing 'Smoking' Jay Culter Some Love With Pre-Snap Signal?

Peyton Manning and his 'omaha' pre-snap call became famous last season after it was heard constantly during a couple post season games. Aaron Rodgers has one that he has been caught using from time to time as well; one where he appears to be smoking.

Rodgers recently talked about the smoking signal. Even if it is not true his reasoning behind it is pretty awesome.

In an interview with The Big Lead Rodgers said that the signal is a tribute to the Smoking Jay Cutler memes:

Wilde: Jeremy asks: “What is that pre-snap signal where you look like you’re smoking? Is that a smoke route, or is that an indicator of two high safeties? Tony asks, “How do you keep from laughing with some of the hand gestures you do in the no-huddle?”

Rodgers: That was just a tribute to Jay Cutler, because there’s that ‘Smoking Jay’ web site. So I was just doing a tribute to him …

WTF? Rodgers wouldn't state whether that was true, but he did take the time to give a short public service announcemnt as well:

Rodgers: It’s a dummy signal. That’s the whole thing. You know, like, smoking dope — you’re a dummy if you smoke dope.
