There were simply to many ducks to put in a row (or the game) with the 49ers. Hmmm...ducks....

Tack on his injury woes and there was simply no reason to keep him. A fresh start was needed and a fresh start he will get--but with who?
His old college coach Chip Kelly in Philadelphia maybe?
With over 5000 yards rushing in three seasons for the Oregon Ducks James ca be effective in the right season and if used properly. If anyone is going to know how to get that kind of production out of James in the NFL it's Kelly.
Heck, he's done it before, right?
The only problem Kelly may have in bringing James in is he doesn't need him. On one hand you could say that a team can never have too many weapons, but the Eagles already have a rather dangerous duo in LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.
Since part of the problem for James in San Francisco was a lack of playing time it doesn't make as much sense for him to go to Philly.
So--where does that leave the former second round pick? The most obvious landing spot would be in Baltimore since the Ravens just lost their No. 1 runnning back. Bernard Pierce is capable, but certainly didn't shine against the Bengals. Justin Forsett didn't look too bad though....
At this point in time if he doesn't go to Baltimore he will probablyb end up sitting at home for a few weeks. When the injuries start piling up around Week 6 his phone will probably be rining off the hook.
