Somehow those wily rascals over at TMZ got a hold of the full video from the casino elevator that shows what really happened inside. It's not good:
All the NFL has done so far is make excuses and have put blame back on law enforcement for not making the video available to them. It could be because they didn't have it either of course. Maybe that is because no one asked the casino or maybe it is because Rice or someone he knows paid for it to dissappear.
But obviously TMZ is willing to pay more.
What is important now is what they are going to do about it. Can the league revisit his punishment or is there somekind of due process/double jeopardy crap worked in to the CBA? That I do not know, but when it comes down to it who cares?
Anyone can step up and make this situation right. Rice can self impose a nine game suspension if he really wants to show contrition. The Ravens could do it too, The Players' Union will have something to say about that, but it could also do the right thing and make an excpetion (but may not want to set thatkind of precedent).
Something has to be done. If a phantom charge has to be crafted in order to tack an additonal charge on the NFL needs to do it.
Oh--and Roger Goodell (or whoever actually ran it) needs more than a slap on the wrist for fouling up the investigation.
Time to act NFL. What are you going to do?
