Who the Heck is New York Giants Tight End Larry Donnell? [GIFs]

If you tuned in to Thursday Night Football chances are you heard a name that you didn't recognize a lot in the first half of the game--Larry Donnell. You knew he was with the New York Giants (the uniforms were kind of a giveaway) and the commentators told us he's a tight end. Other than that the man was somewhat of a mystery.

After making seven catches (targeted eight times) for 54 yards and three touchdowns (yes, three TDs) he is not going to be a mystery for long.

After playing his college ball at Grambling State he didn't make it on to the radar of too many teams and he went undrafted. The Giants took a chance on him as a undrafted free agent and he ended up making the roster.

Who wouldn't want a big ole target that stood 6'6" and weighed in at 265 pounds?

He played in every game his rookie season last year, but only registered three catches for 31 yards and was only targeted six times.

This season has been a different story though. He's caught most of the balls thrown his way (25 of 31) for 236 yards (with at least 45 yards in each game) and four touchdowns.

With his average hanging right around nine yards a catch the Giants are getting exactly what any NFL team wants out of a tight end--someone who can move the chains. If he happens to score a few times that's alright too.

So--check and check.
