Houston Cougars Lose to Central Florida in Heartbreaking Fashion [GIF]

The Houston Cougars are not the powerhouse they were in the 1970's and 80's, but they are a good football team. They've struggled to find some consistency so far this season, but with a win Thursday night against Central Florida they could get a much needed conference win and bring their record about .500 for the season.

When back-up quarterback Greg Ward Jr. dove for the end zone for a brief moment fans believed it was going to happen; they were going to win.

They would have too if UCF's Brandon Alexander didn't grab a hold of Ward's arm at the last second causing him to fumble the ball. Had it gone out of bounds it would have been no big deal, but it went in to the end zone first making it a touchback and UCF ball.

Final score: UCF 17  Houston 12

Like I said--heartbreaking.
