His per carry average is not great, but it clear the team was willing to commit to him. It looks like they are going to continue to do so for at least a few more weeks:
Rashad Jennings told Giants reporters he has a sprained MCL. Two games left before the bye. Could be out through then.

When possible it is nice to ease a rookie in to playing, and the Giants may still do so and have him split carries with Peyton Hillis. The team does appear to be interested in seeing what Williams could do so it would not be shocking if Hillis was still left on the bench.
