WATCH: BYU QB Taysom Hill Season Over After Leg Fractured Against Utah State

BYU quarterback Taysom Hill has been talked about as a possible Heisman trophy candidate this season, but his chance at earning college football's highest honor is done after suffering a season ending injury against Utah State.

The junior suffered a leg fracture against in-state rival Utah State Friday night.

Winning the Heisman was a long shot, but he was having a pretty good season. The 6'2", 232 pounder had passed for 876 yards and run for another 428 and recorded 13 touchdowns (7 rushing, 6 passing) while only throwing three interceptions.

He was 8-11 for 99 yards passing and had 35 yards on the ground before getting injured. Hill ran for the first touchdown of the game to give BYU a 7-0 lead at the time. He threw for one early in the second to give the Cougars back the lead 14-7.

With more than a quarter still to play Utah State leads 35-18.
