Dolphins RB Lamar Miller Either Went Big or Not at All Against the Buffalo Defense

For a team like the Miami Dolphins everyone really needs to do their part if they are going to win. Yes, the same could be said for every team, but those lucky enough to have an Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, or Peyton Manning on their side can afford to slip a little.

So for the Dolphins offense to really work against a tough Buffalo defense running back Lamar Miller needed to have a good night.

According to the stat sheet he did. Gaining 86 yards on 15 carries along with 12 yards on two receptions is nothing to shake a stick at. Since the team won it would appear that he did his job just fine. However, when you consider that the bulk of his yardage came on two carries he didn't.

Things looked promising early on when he rattled off a 32-yard carry on a 3rd and 24 play to keep a drive going:

Early in the second quarter he got another solid run; this time a 33-yard one (season long):

That leaves the remaining 21 yards gained on 13 carries. Not good.

Between the work Tannehill and Miller have been putting in of late the Dolphins have the No. 7 rushing attack in the league, however, going forward they may want to talk to Tannehill about not taking off as much.

They appear to be poised to make a post season push, but if they were to lose him to injury because he didn't slide in time any hopes of post season glory would be done.
