Matt Schaub the NFL's Version of a 'Cooler?'

In the 2003 movie The Cooler William H. Macy played a guy that the casino called in to 'cool down' a player that was on a hot streak. He didn't really do anything special in order to do it. His bad luck was strong that his presence at the table was enough to turn the hottest hot streak ice cold.

On occasion life will imitate art and it looks like it may be doing just that in Oakland. How so? Back-up quarterback Matt Schaub may very well be the NFL's version of a Cooler.

ESPN was nice enough to point this out on Twitter Wednesday afternoon:

This season the Raiders are 0-9. Last season when he was in Houston the Texans lost the last 14 of the season bringing his streak up to 23 and counting.

While the losing streak is impressive it still may be a bit soon to label Schaub a 'cooler' and a little inaccurate. Houston had been doing well before it went on its epic streak, but the Raiders were already riding a six-game losing streak from last season (a 4-12 year).

They were already cold--which could be why they are doing so bad this season. They aren't just cold. They're ice cold (and not in the cool Ice Cube kind of way).

If we really want to test the theory what we need to do is have him sign with New England, Indianapolis, Denver, or Arizona.

It's for science people.
