Texas A&M fans got their wish Friday—defensive coordinator Mark Snyder was let go after three lackluster seasons in charge of the Aggies defense.

When it comes to competing in the SEC, the toughest conference in college football, you need to have two things: (1) a running game and (2) an awesome defense. It’s been a long time since Texas A&M has had such a defense, but with Johnny Manziel at the helm for two of the last three seasons they did have one of the best rushing attacks in the conference.
Had the team had a better defense there is no telling what they could have done with Manziel, but without a dynamic play-maker like him the team’s defensive shortcomings on the defensive side of the ball were too much.
So after three seasons defensive Mark Snyder had to be let go....
