The round and rotund play an important role on every team they are on, but their value is not recognized as much as the skinny guys on the field. So to honor them allow me to present to you the First Annual Fat Guy Heisman Trophy Award!

It will be the guys that go above and beyond the call of duty for a fat guy that will be considered for the Fat Guy Heisman Trophy. This season their where plenty of candidates so with no further ado here are the top five:
Fourth Runner Up: Ball State defensive lineman Blake Dueitt returns a fumble 35-yards for a touchdown. This one almost did not qualify because Dueitt is not very fat (around 255 pounds), but he does play on the line and he did have to carry a stupid defensive back most of the way so it qualifies.

Runner-up: Arkansas's 350 pound offensive tackle Sebastian Tretola throwing a touchdown pass. This was nothing short of beautiful and it is deserving of winning the award, but there was one element of the winner that this one did not have.
As unusual as throwing a touchdown pass is the winner did something even more unusual....

Winner: All 340 pounds of Oklahoma defensive lineman Jordan Phillips returning a fumble 69-yards for a touchdown that did not count.
Maybe Sebastian should win because he actually scored, but when was the last time you saw a 340-pound man mountain rumble 69-yards without a single skinny person from the other team even trying to tackle him? Maybe if he Sebastian had rolled out or maybe if there was a little boot leg action he would have won.

So congratulations Jordan. You didn't get the touchdown because one of your idiot teammates threw an illegal block, but you did win the Fat Guy Heisman Trophy!
Honorable mentions go to Michigan State offensive lineman Connor Kruse and Mercer O-Lineman Thomas Marchman.
