Trojans Outlasts Cornhuskers in Thrilling Holiday Bowl to Win 45-42

When it comes to bowl games there are many that suck. One team is completely over-matched and gets blown out. Both teams look like they haven't played in weeks (which they haven't) and sometimes look like they haven't practiced in weeks either.

The Holiday Bowl wasn't one of those games.

Both offenses definitely looked like they came to play. Tommy Armstrong gave his new head coach, Mike Riley, something to smile about with a 381 yard, three touchdown performance. Departing Nebraska running back had a solid night with 149 total yards and a touchdown.

In the end the night belonged to the USC Trojans.

Quarterback Cody Kessler completed 23 of 39 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Nelson Agholor caught seven of those passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. Running back Javorius Allen topped it off with a 152-yard, two touchdown night of its own.

Yeah, this meant there was little in the way of defense, but it sure was a heck of a game to watch made only better in the fact that the Cornhuskers still had a chance on a last second Hail-Mary:
