Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III Makes His Smartest Move Yet

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has been ripped apart on social media for most of the last two seasons. Ever since he came back from his last knee injury he has not been the same guy the Redskins gave the farm away to draft--and the fans have let him know how they feel about that. With the exception of the occasional lash back he has taken all the criticism in stride and continued on, but he has finally had enough.

He's quitting social media (for now).

He's actually doing a lot more than just quitting social media for the remainder of the season. RG3 has said he is even going to play it bland and safe with the media too (via ESPN):
"It just felt like, for me, anything I was saying, whether it was positive or negative, whether it was a positive retweet or anything, was getting twisted and turned against me and against this team," he said. "I feel I can be free up here and talk to you guys, but sometimes things get twisted and turned and it creates a distraction for the team. I didn't want that to happen."
Staying off of social media and playing it safe with the media is a brilliant move on his part. If he doesn't give the haters anything to twist around they will eventually grow weary of waiting and go tear some other undeserving soul a new one.

Maybe if he isn't dealing with the brand aspect of being RG3 he can concentrate he can get back to being RG3 (and play good football again).

Maybe.
